Amber’s trip to Leeds
I’ve just returned from my jaunt to Leeds. I met some lovely new gents who I hope to see again in the future. I stayed at a cool new hotel which had an amazing sky bar which was very convenient for a cocktail or two!
I managed to fit in a little shopping. Well it would be rude not to when Leeds has such inviting Victorian arcades! They truly are a sight to behold. They are so glamorous, elegant and ornate with fountains, stained glass windows and marble everywhere. The arcades are extremely theatrical. Apparently this is due to the fact that they were designed by Frank Matcham who was an architect more noted for his theatre building. Well shopping for me is never a chore but wandering around the beautiful shops in Leeds is an absolute pleasure! I treated myself to a fab bracelet from Vivienne Westwood made of perspex and decorated with diamante. I can’t wait to show it off. Of course, I had to have lunch in Harvey Nichols too.
On Saturday evening I got ready for a night out and waited in reception for my cab. I was suddenly surrounded by about 20 Audrey Hepburns! It was obviously a hen night. The ladies looked so elegant and had obviously gone to a lot of trouble with their outfits. They were dressed in black cocktail dresses, pearls, long black gloves and black court shoes, They all had neatly coiffeured hair, some with tiaras. One or two even had cigarette holders! It is not often I feel underdressed but this was one occasion when I did! I wonder if they looked so elegant and glamorous by the end of the night?
How I giggled to myself when my cab arrived. I now have my own private fleet of cabs in Leeds – Amber Cabs! lol! I met up with a group of industry related peeps for dinner. There was only a small number of us but we had our own private dining room in the hotel, which felt very decadent. I had a lovely evening – especially when one of the ladies introduced me to her Hitachi Magic Wand. All I can say is it is MAGIC and I want one!
